David is founder and CEO of ABC Packaging Direct™. ABC Packaging Direct designs and sells custom packaging via the Internet without having to meet with customers face-to-face. Materials range from specialty high and low temperature films, returnable packaging, molded foams, heavy gauge thermoforming as well as retail clamshells, stand up pouches, and more. Positioning himself as The Packaging Expert, David has developed a network of suppliers who manufacture unique and hard to find packaging materials which he then prominently positions via Search Engines, industry publications, press releases, WebSeminars, Ezines, blogs, and various websites. Leveraging technology, David can cover more ground, respond faster than any other company, minimize costs and maximize profits.
ABC Packaging Direct™ evolved from David's experience at Birthing of Giants, Inc Magazines exclusive graduate program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Originally accepted into BOG as President and CEO of American Built Containment Systems, it became painfully clear that his business needed to be "dismantled" before it could thrive. American Built Containment Systems sold everything from traditional paper products to welded steel racking. Sales were generated via traditional "cold calls" and knocking on doors (B2B) by salespeople. With shrinking margins and increasing costs (salaries, travel, etc), David initially turned to on-line tools for marketing and lead generation. However, the immediate response by customers to this new way of doing business led David to develop ABC Packaging Direct™. By refocusing only on plastic related materials and utilizing readily available technology, ABC Packaging Direct™ drives clients to them, interacts with them immediately via Live Operators in order to pre-qualify the projects, and then designs and sells solutions through WebMeetings instead of face-to-face appointments. ABC Packaging Direct™ is the only company in the industry operating this way.
Sales of custom packaging in North America will exceed $30 Billion dollars in 2006. The acceptance of Search Engines as a primary tool for decision makers to solve packaging problems has led to a tremendous opportunity for growth at ABC Packaging Direct™.
