Digital Artwork Submission Guidelines

Adobe Illustrator 10

  • Earlier versions also acceptable.
  • When saving Illustrator files as EPS, save without placed images (unless file is placed in a page layout program such as QuarkXPress, then save with placed images or else placed images will not print.)
  • If FreeHand files are placed as EPS images, the original FreeHand files MUST be supplied.
  • Supply ALL files needed, including support files (fonts, imported EPS/TIFF files, etc.); but PLEASE SUPPLY NECESSARY FILES ONLY.

QuarkXPress

  • Earlier versions also acceptable, but may reflow.
  • Check Picture Usage – imported files must have an OK status
  • If FreeHand files are placed as EPS images, the original FreeHand files MUST be supplied.
  • Supply ALL files needed, including support files (fonts, imported EPS/TIFF files, etc.); but PLEASE SUPPLY NECESSARY FILES ONLY. If FreeHand files are imported into Quark, the EPS file and the original FreeHand files MUST be supplied.

Adobe Photoshop 6

  • Earlier versions also acceptable
  • Save as CMYK rather than RGB (we can convert RGB to CMYK is needed).
  • Save dpi @ 2x the output line screen (e.g. if file will be output @133 lpi – save file with 266 dpi).
  • Save as TIFF or EPS; if EPS, save with 8 bit Mac preview, binary encoding, transfer function off, halftone screens off.

Freehand 9

  • Earlier versions also acceptable – ALWAYS supply the ORIGINAL FreeHand file, even when exported as EPS for placement into other programs – AN EXPORTED EPS FILE WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL FILE. IS UNUSABLE.

3.5” floppy disk; ZIP; CD-ROM; 44/88/200 mb Syquest; JAZ.

  • All files supplied on disk must also be accompanied by composite and color separated proofs, with colors specified by PMS number.
  • Supply ALL files needed including support files (fonts, imported EPS/TIFF files, etc.); but PLEASE SUPPLY NECESSARY FILES ONLY.
  • Send copies of files only, primary files should be kept at place of origin. ABC Packaging Direct will not be responsible for lost or modified files.
  • Disks will be returned upon request.
